Disease and suffering

The belief that you will be given exactly enough of what you need at any given time is hard to cling to when times are tough. The fact that the bad stuff and the good are there because we begged for it mostly passes us by. God in His great wisdom, fairness and love will give us all the opportunity to learn these life important lessons. If your child needs to die so you can grow or you need to be a millionaire to learn humility. He will make it possible. Problem is we don't always learn from the offered lesson. We blame, curse, harden our hearts, become even more greedy, selfish, self-righteous etc. Life wasted. Takes us even longer to go home - even worse, it is by our own doing and choice. So you are very righteous and holy but born in some hellhole in Bosnia - how does that work? Look for the lesson. Maybe we need to learn patience and endurance. Maybe we are there to help some one else with his/her lesson.

How does it work when I know all this stuff and still cannot get it right? How can my mind know it all but my will does not want to play along? Maybe we are just not ready. Maybe it is the beginning of the awakening. Maybe we still have to learn the discipline, simplicity, humility and compassion.
