Doctrine

What we are studying here is the science of Being. The word 'doctrine' means teaching. This doctrine is thus the teaching of the science of Being and Becoming.

What we are studying here is the accepted, or perhaps official teaching of the church. Like any other doctrine the teaching attempts only to lay a foundation from which you can work. Like other doctrines, the doctrine of mathematics for example (2 + 2 = 4), it will serve you well through many lifetimes and at its highest level you find that the foundation becomes a bit 'shaky' as certain grey areas come into play. Unlike the mathematician and biologist, we theologians have access to a higher form of knowledge to resort to at that critical time--which inevitably comes to all great thinkers - and that resource is Love.

The time comes when the limited rational processes of mind fails to find an answer - that is when the higher form of knowledge can be called in to assist - the higher wisdom which we can only be achieved through love.  The rational mind cannot understand love, and can obviously not understand how love can be a form of higher wisdom.  But this is the teaching of the Saviour, and this is the teaching we seek--we seek to learn to understand the high Truths which mind is not equipped to deal with.  Lets not fret at this stage about not understanding how Love can be our resource for wisdom at a future time--we have yet much to learn before we get to that point.  Hopefully, when we reach that point it will be clearer, and the essence of mysticism may make more 'sense' to our limited rational sense.

The Way is a mystical way.  We need to learn but a few rational truths before we set out investigating further with the mystical mind attuned.  This is the purpose of this catechism--to help you learn the basics as you set foot on The Way.

This catechism deals with basics of Church doctrine regarding God, Humans, The Purpose of Life, Laws of Nature, Guidance and the Saviour.

Enjoy.
