"God"This is the human name or designation bestowed on That One Source from which, in which, through which and to which we flow. God is the architect, creator, destroyer and upholder of all things seen and unseen in all universes (the Omniverse). The word God is not a name, it is merely a term used to point toward That Only Source of Power, which we can never understand enough of to 'name' it. We understand God, as we understand most other things, in the very limited human language terms and thus under human conditions. In this simple and limited form of understanding we talk of how we experience God. Yesu teaching helps us to experience God as our true Father, the One Yang principle, the One Spirit that animates and directs all. We also experience God as true Mother, the One Yin principle, the One Wisdom that nurtures, feeds and nurses us. We also experience God as present with us, in the human condition, especially when represented by already enlightened children antiquity calls Son of God. Admittedly this is a very simple understanding of that which we can never understand, and it feels a bit childish to say these words about God in such a familial way. But it is in this simplicity where we are probably closer to truth - we are family, and God is on one side our Divine Mother and on the other side our Divine Father - and we know full well we are Their children. We have said too much about God - anything said limits God, and when limited, is not God anymore. Nothing said about God, is closer to truth. See also Tao Teh Ching chapter 1 and 2 in this regard. PS. How is it said that God is the destroyer?Biological life is created and destroyed, as energy is created and used. Plants have seasons, flowers and seeds. Humans also have temporary biological bodies that are often needed to serve practical purposes. Biological or organic life is a miracle still far beyond human conception - it is from God, everyday, every second, every nanosecond, and it is temporary life. Biological organic life is created to last only short periods - and we humans see the demise of biological life as destruction or death when it suits us. Because God creates temporal organism, philosophically speaking we must see God as the destroyer of those organisms as well. Humans make of it a great happy hobby to study organic life forms, combat disease, and to improve conditions of shelter against the unpleasant aspects of nature, and lessen the destructiveness of human impact upon nature - but we are not yet the creators, sustainers and experts which we will be when one with God.
