While liturgical worship is not the foremost
aspect of devotional life in Church of the East, and does carry the same
importance as group meditations and partaking in the sacraments, it is
surely much loved. Most congregations make special opportunities to
partake in the Liturgy.
The Liturgy is best appreciated when a proficient
Reader, or Deacon, assists the Counsellor and of course, when the
congregation (be it two or 200 devotees) is familiar with the text.
The optional devotional addendum to the Divine
Liturgy is the special service of the Mystery Meal--a most impressionable
and special devotional event in every devotee's spiritual life.
